Flavor had to kinda grow on me but if you're not accustomed to cranking the heat in your food, you may not get much of the flavor anyways. As far as jerky meat goes it's good stuff, not tough as leather, and not falling apart into shreds. The cherry on top that earned the five stars from me is that it even came with a little wrapped flosser pick in there, just the right thing for jerky eating.
